East Asian Studies Requirements
For this minor, you must complete the following:
- LAN 111.17: First Year Chinese Part I
- LAN 112.17: First Year Chinese Part II
- LAN 115.17: Second Year Chinese Part I

- LAN 111.18: First Year Japanese Part I
- LAN 112.18: First Year Japanese Part II
- LAN 115.18: Second Year Japanese Part I
- LAN 116.18: Second Year Japanese Part II
You must also choose one of the below options. 24 hours are required total.
Option 1
Language Track
LAN 231.18, 232.18 and one elective from any elective group
Option 2
Interdisciplinary Track
Upon consultation with the East Asian Studies advisor, sufficient electives from at least three of the following group:
- Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures: 111.18, 112.18, 115.18, 116.18, 231.18, 232.18, 111.17, 112.17, 115.17
- Department of History: HIS 104.02, 269, 275, 276, 373, 375
- Department of Politics and Government: POL 140, 245, 345
