German Student & Community Activities

Involvement in a registered student organization is a great way for students to become more involved with their major, minor, or area of interest. Activities like the German Student Association and German Conversation Hour provide valuable learning and leadership opportunities that enrich a student's college experience. German Film Series
(every other Tuesday)

Students in German at ISU have the opportunity to see German films throughout the academic year.  Films are shown every other Tuesday in Room 202 in Stevenson Hall (STV) at 7pm.  Anyone interested can also use the series for an independent course of study about German film.  Ask one of the German professors (Segelcke, van der Laan, or Weeks) about how to do so.  The next film scheduled for Tuesday, 10 April is Hans Weingartner's "Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei" (The Edukators 2004).

Stammtisch
(Thursdays)

Students, professors, and members of the community meet every Thursday evening beginning at 6pm in Medici's iin Uptown Normal for a German "Stammtisch."   When and while the weather is nice, we'll meet upstairs in the "Biergarten."  Hope you can join us! Just say "Zum Wohl!"
