Illinois State University's Honors Program provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves to achieve above and beyond their educational goals. According to the Honors Program's website, "The mission of the Honors Program at Illinois State University is to recruit, challenge, and stimulate academically-talented, culturally and ethnically diverse, and highly-motivated students from all academic disciplines."
The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures strongly encourages LAN majors to apply to and participate in the Honors Program. The Honors Program provides unique opportunities for academic and extracurricular engagement. In addition, it enhances students' resumes and provides them with experiences which will benefit them in their futures.
Honors students interested in Departmental honors should plan to achieve this beginning their junior year.
