A castle in Italy.

Italian Studies Minor

Experience one of the most fascinating cultures in the world.

Getting to know the rich Italian culture can inspire your creativity and spark innovation in your major. Italy is a world leader when it comes to business, fashion, design, culinary arts, and tourism. If you’re majoring in one of these areas or just want to explore your curiosity, an Italian Studies minor at Illinois State is a good fit.

Whether you’ve taken a few courses or you’re brand new to Italian, our program will teach you everything you want to know about the language. We also designed our program to fully immerse you in the Italian culture.

Why Study Italian Studies?

Italian culture has a lot to offer and you can experience it any way you want at Illinois State.

Our program is interdisciplinary. This means you get to choose classes that most interest you. We offer several electives in history, art, literature, and film.

Experiencing the Italian culture happens outside the classroom, too. Our study abroad options put you in the heart of it all where you can live the language, art, food, and more. You can also get active with La Tavola, our Italian club. This student-run group hosts many events that center around Italian culture and traditions.
