You can take the test online or you can download the exam as a Word Document and then follow the instructions on how to grade it.
Use this key (Word document) if you downloaded the Word/text version of the test.
Check your answers carefully against the key, and give yourself one point for each answer that matches the key exactly. There are no partial credits. When you have finished checking, total your score and review the corresponding advice in the righthand column of this page.
If your score is between...
If your score is on the borderline, do take into consideration your skill levels in speaking and writing. If you are strong in these areas, consider the higher level. If you have concerns, enroll in the lower level.
Your score on this test is advisory only. It will not block you from enrolling in any course for which you have completed the prerequisites (see catalog). If your score is lower than you had hoped, but you have completed the prerequisites listed in the catalog, you may still enroll in the 200.15-level course. You should be aware that you will not be as well prepared as most of your classmates, and you will need to budget extra time for study.
