This summer program is open to all majors with the aim of introducing students to Italian language and Italian food culture through real life service encounters, art, literature, music, and cinema. Participants will spend 22 days in Bologna, Italy also known as 'La Grassa' or 'The Fat' city due to its rich gastronomic history.
Academics and Credit
This study abroad provides 6 hours of credit toward the Italian Studies minor and credit toward GE: H.
Courses you take:
- IDS 133A28: Italian Food Culture - Bologna, Italy (3 credits): Introduces students to Italian food culture through art, literature, and cinema
- ITA 113: Italian Language Through Service Encounters (3 credits): Students improve their Italian speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills through intensive and immersive visits around town and through lessons in a local Italian school.
- Students may receive credit for ITA 287 if ITA 116 has already been taken on campus.
